I have a tradition with a friend to enjoy a weekend together once a year and this year we decided on a Seville visit and found ourselves enjoying 48 hours in this stunning place.
I have never really been to mainland Spain apart from numerous trips to Barcelona I typically enjoyed the Balearic islands like Ibiza.
So there is a certain stigma attached with “Romantic” Weekend trips in Europe. Now I know that the work Romantic is actually a little taboo therefore maybe in this article I’ll call the “Romantic Weekend Trip” a “Couples Weekend Trip”.
I recently wrote an article about The White House in Koringberg which I stayed at whilst in South Africa. This made me think about our weekend trips in Europe.
Out of all the activities that I outlined on South Africa, I have to say this was one of my favorite places that we visited.
A stone throw away from Knysna on the South African Garden Route, on the road towards Plettenberg Bay is the Knysna Elephant Park.
Clarens in South Africa is a quaint little town that I cannot more highly reccomend you to visit. This town are entwined with history to the extent that this town is named after Clarens in Switzerland and now one of the TOP destinations that I can recommend you visit.
Welcome to the first of a new section I wish to explore on the blog, which is “Secret Hideouts”
I am also very pleased to put this escape as the first in this series. The whitehouse in Koringberg is the perfect little hideout in the Western Cape of South Africa, merely a 1.5hour drive from Cape Town via Moorreesburg. This makes the perfect place to escape during your vacation or even work trip.
Cape Town can be a busy city actually with all the activities around. I would say that a short little breakaway to the Whitehouse will ensure that you are actually switching off and really getting the best out of South Africa. This is a perfect hideout for 2 people. We stayed here for 2 nights which was the perfect amount of time spent away.
Above map shows the location of this quaint little town.
