Geneva, what a great city. I was fortunate enough a few years ago to be taken to Geneva by a dear friend of mine who at the time lived in Lyon. We took the train from Lyon to Geneva and ever since I wanted to go back. This year I did just that, I flew out on the Friday evening and spent the Saturday and Sunday in the city. Its a great place to relax with a real sense of that “European” feeling of al freco dining and street cafe’s.

On Saturday we woke up and made our way to Jetee des Paquis just past Bains des Paquis. On the way there we stopped at one of the many cafe’s for a petit déjeuner. The idea was to spent the whole day on the jetee and that is exactly what we did, just sat outside in the hot weather at 36’c and soak up the sun.
The Sunday after feeling a bit tender due to the sunburn we just wanted to wonder about and enjoy the atmosphere of the city. On the way we once again enjoyed a petit déjeuner and continue walking along the lake to Parc Mon Repos where we enjoyed a few coffees.
We once more stopped at jetee des paquis just to have a dip in the cool lake water to cool us down and went to have a wonderful lunch on the “Le Rhone” river. And as with all good things it had to come to an end and for us to come back.
Weather was again on the hot side at 36’c and 32’c respectively. The city is expensive, very expensive!
